Ready to Get Your Hands Dirty with New Construction at Brick & Banister?

Look, we’re not interested in someone who just likes looking at pretty new construction houses. We need someone who actually understands the building process from the ground up. If you know what an R-value is, can talk about blower door tests without hesitation, and aren’t afraid to pick up the phone and talk to builders, contractors, and landowners—keep reading. You’ll be helping buyers make huge decisions that seem small to you but are massive to them. Oh, and you better put some effort into your appearance—clients notice.

What we’re looking for:

  • Real Construction Knowledge – If you don’t know what a framing schedule is or can’t explain an insulation type, this isn’t the job for you. Get educated or get out.
  • Client-Focused – You know how to make decisions for clients based on their priorities, even when they’re stressing over things that seem trivial. Calm them down, guide them through.
  • Proactive Relationship Builder – Don’t wait for builders to come to you. You’ll need to call, connect, and build relationships with builders, contractors, subs, and landowners. If you’re not hustling to network, you’re not going to last.
  • Organizational Overload – New construction means juggling multiple moving parts. If you can’t keep track of construction schedules, changes, and client preferences, don’t apply.
  • Look the Part – You’re interacting with builders, clients, and high-end contractors. Dress like it. We're not asking for a suit, but if you show up in flip-flops and a tank top, we’ll kindly suggest you try again.

Responsibilities

  • Relationship Building with Builders & Contractors – If you’re not reaching out, staying in touch, and making sure builders, subs, and landowners know who you are, you’re doing it wrong.
  • Guide New Construction Buyers – Be the go-to expert for clients trying to figure out finishes, timelines, and what’s really a big deal when building their dream home. Spoiler: You’ll have to deal with a lot of stress. Be ready.
  • Client Consultation – Be their calm in the storm. Help clients figure out what’s important to them and keep them from panicking about stuff they’ll forget about by the time the house is done.
  • Project Management – Multiple projects mean multiple timelines, constant updates, and a lot of coordination. If you’re not into multitasking, get out.
  • Professionalism in Every Aspect – You’ll be working with builders and high-maintenance clients. Your appearance, communication, and attitude need to reflect that. No excuses.

Qualifications

  • Have an active Real Estate License in MN or WI
  • Know Your Stuff – R-values, blower door tests, framing schedules—you should know all of this. If you don’t, you’re just wasting our time.
  • Real Estate Experience – You can’t be a newbie here. You should have experience in new construction or have enough knowledge to get up to speed fast. If not, don’t bother applying.
  • Communication Skills – Be able to explain things to clients who don’t get why a window trim choice matters or why an inspection’s a big deal. If you can’t talk your way through tough conversations, bail.
  • Organizational Prodigy – This isn’t about just keeping track of your calendar. It’s about making sure no detail slips through the cracks in a chaotic, fast-moving process.
  • Look Professional – We don’t need you in a tux, but if you show up in sweatpants, you’re probably going to get a side-eye from everyone. Dress like you know what you’re doing.

If you’re tired of dealing with the same old, same old and ready to help guide clients through the world of new construction, juggle deadlines, and talk shop with contractors, let’s talk. This job is for someone who knows the building process and isn’t afraid to dive deep into the dirty, hard work. If you think you’ve got what it takes, prove it. We’re ready if you are.

Compensation

$50,000 - $75,000 USD Yearly

This is a commission based position.
